Abstract The consumption of fossil fuels raises major issues, such as energy availability and environmental preservation. In order to minimize these it is important propose alternative fuel. Alternative fuel be proposed should easy apply current type enginethat do not require engine modification environmentally friendly. This study aims determine the effect addition methanol a non-fossil mixture into RON 88 gasoline. ratio 80% gasoline 20% methanol. We conducted experiment on properties, performance, vibration, noise, exhaust emissions. simulation utilized TV-1 (Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd.). results show that performance mixed with tends better even though higher, highest specific in 2.9 kg/kwh while for without 2.64 kg/kwh. largest vibration occurred measurement vertical radial direction 36 m/s2 34 methanol, at 1200 rpm 1600 respectively. Engine noise higher value 86.4 dB compared 85.7 pure Lower emission levels blended where HC 32 ppm 17 ppm.
